“Who hasn’t tried 2048? Matching the same numbers, doubling them, who can’t play?”. But no, what I’m about to bring you is the 2048 Fun Collection version, it’s a real wild horse. This game gathers all the number matching genres you’ve ever played, mixes in a few tricks, and drops them into a collection of mini games that will give your brain a quick workout.

Introduce about 2048 Fun Collection

2048 Fun Collection is an extremely hot upgraded version of the legendary 2048 game that everyone used to play. Instead of just having the traditional number matching style, this version is breathed life into by developer MATTHEW DAVID STUDIO with several new modes such as Track and Connect, making the game not only a logic problem but also an extremely tense reflex race.

As soon as you enter 2048 Fun Collection, you will see a neat grid menu, not as colorful as Chinese games. Each box is a game mode, with an illustrative icon that makes it easy to understand. There are three main giant blocks in the middle:

  • Classic: Traditional, swipe to match numbers.
  • Track: Numbers run along the rail, wait for the right time to release.
  • Connect: Connect the same number boxes in a series.

Surrounded by a series of side games, including Merge Drop, Blocks, Slide Merge, and Memory Mode. There is a light hover effect, along with the highest score achieved. Seeing it makes you angry, you have to click to play immediately to break your own record. The good thing is that you don’t need to create an account, no need to ask for permissions. Enter and play. Exit, the game automatically saves. You get called by your boss? No problem, open it again and continue the previous turn.

Basic Classic mode

This mode is the original 2048, where you swipe the same number tiles to form a larger number: 2 – 4 – 8 – 16 – 32 – 64 – 128 – 256 – 512 – 1024 – 2048… This is the game mode that any 2048 player knows. Each time you swipe, all the tiles move in that direction, colliding with each other to combine. And the numbers on the board are getting more and more crowded, easily causing congestion like rush hour traffic.

Undo is available, but only once. Use it and it’s gone, there’s no recovery. So using Undo is also an option that requires a lot of “brain”. Classic is a test of composure and long-term calculation. Whoever gets impatient will “game over” right away.

Track Mode

Track Mode is an interesting twist, completely refreshing the traditional 2048 gameplay. In this mode, the numbers no longer stand still waiting for you to swipe, but instead slide along a pre-drawn track, which can be a circle, a zigzag, or even a strange shape. Your task is simply to time the drop of the number tile just when it coincides with the running tile, so that they merge.

The problem is that 2048 Fun Collection doesn’t tell you what the next number is. It forces you to play “trust your hand”, drop it first and then… pray. Once I saw the number 64 sliding to the yellow corner, my hand was shaking, about to drop it to get a combo. But at the moment of dropping, it was off by 0.5 seconds, so my 64 hit the number 2. The combo failed, the combo was gone, the score fell straight to the negative number in my heart.

Connect Mode

If Track Mode makes your hands tired and your eyes strained, then Connect Mode is an IQ test disguised as an entertainment game. In this mode of 2048 Fun Collection, you don’t swipe, don’t release, but have to connect the same number boxes in a chain, which can be horizontal, vertical or diagonal as long as they stick together. It sounds as easy as drawing and coloring, but in reality, it’s like taking part in a real-life math Olympiad.

When you successfully connect a string, the cells will merge and create a larger number cell, leaving room for new numbers to fall. Sounds reasonable. But the plot twist is that those new numbers are… mercilessly random. You can just open a super nice combo line, then 0.3 seconds later it will spawn a 2 cell right in the middle of the road, destroying your dream of setting a record.

Connect Mode requires you to have a long-term vision (at least two or three turns ahead) and an extremely alert strategic mind. If you match randomly, the board will fill up very quickly and you will soon fall into a deadlock. The scary thing is that the more you play, the more you realize that you are not as good as you thought. The more you calculate, the more the game will troll you with unreasonable numbers.

Race to the top in 2048 Fun Collection

I thought the 2048 game was just for fun, but it has a built-in ranking system that makes you want to climb to the top if you accidentally match 1024. The ranking in 2048 Fun Collection is the stage for serious players to perform.

The cool thing is that this board doesn’t just have the highest score, it’s also divided into different game modes. Track Mode has its own board, Connect Mode has its own board, whoever is good at something can go there and show off. Every time you break your personal record, you’ll be celebrated with a huge number appearing, accompanied by a “ting ting” sound like you’ve just won the lottery. But then you glance at the top of the leaderboard and see someone has 16,384 points while you’ve just reached 2048, and your heart sinks.

Graphics and sound

First of all, it must be made clear: this is not a flashy visual game show, but it chooses a minimalist but extremely effective style. Just looking at the interface, you can immediately tell that the dev team has studied properly, the design is sophisticated, the colors are not chaotic but just eye-catching enough, easy to see enough, and addictive enough. Each number is a pretty square that is carefully “colored” according to the level, from gentle pale yellow to bright orange, the higher the color, the more fiery it is like fire near the bottom, the right type of color has a reason to exist, not just for fun.

The sound is also worth mentioning. Here, MATTHEW DAVID STUDIO plays a gentle but profound trick with a minimalist, chill, addictive sound style. While playing and listening, you want to get lost in the flow of numbers. Every time you merge a box, it sounds like, “ding”, it sounds like the sound of ice cubes falling into a glass of milk tea, extremely pleasing to the ears! The background music is meditative but not sleepy, keeping the brain awake without stress.

Honestly, 2048 Fun Collection is a revival that both respects the original and has enough tricks to lure players into difficult challenges. With the combo: no internet connection, no nonsense permissions, no forced ads, this is definitely a game that cannot be missed for anyone who loves math, logic, or simply likes to lightly brainstorm at night and then sleep well. If you don’t try it, you will regret it!
