The story goes like this, in the midst of the price storm, some young people decided to put aside their office dreams to… grow marijuana. But not to grow for fun, to grow to smoke, but to grow to live, to get rich and more importantly, to avoid going to jail. The game The Schedule V Project entered the world like a strange wind: simulating an underground empire, where you are the operator of a production, distribution and money laundering system.
Introduce about The Schedule V Project
The Schedule V Project is a simulation game developed by Blingames. In the game, you start from zero and build a business empire of “Schedule V”, referring to controlled products through production, distribution and expansion of the network of operations.
What’s special is that the game doesn’t try to be dark, bloody or dramatic like Netflix movies. On the contrary, The Schedule V Project has a simple graphic style, bright colors, and a friendly interface. At first glance, you might think this is an idle game about building a gas station or a coffee shop. But don’t be fooled because behind the LED lights and cute upgrade buttons is a very systematic production line of “green things”. The game neither encourages nor condemns, it simply lets you try out the role of an “illegal businessman”.
What do you grow in The Schedule V Project?
When you enter the game, you start from zero, or more precisely, from a dark basement, with just enough light to see a potted plant. That is the first “cannabis baby” in your business life. This is the foundation for everything that follows, from cash flow, staff, to a sophisticated money laundering system.
The first plant needs to grow as slowly as your internet speed. You’ll need to buy more light bulbs, install an automatic watering system, and upgrade the plant varieties to increase production. Then there’s a whole ecosystem of supporting features like exhaust fans, humidifiers, and temperature controls. Every little factor affects the growth rate, the quality of the produce, and… the likelihood of being discovered by the neighbors.
At some point, you unlock shrooms. Unlike marijuana, mushrooms require a completely different environment and process. Later, you’ll even have access to lab-like manufacturing facilities to make things like meth, psychoactive pills, and a variety of “Schedule V” drugs, the official name for mild controlled substances in the U.S. And that’s where the game’s title comes in.
From the basement to the street
You can’t just plant it and then sell it in the market, or you’ll be in jail. The beauty of the game is that all the money flows through a hidden chain of operations:
- Distributors: You hire them to get your goods to market. They have their own skills, like running faster than the police, or charging higher prices.
- Front businesses: Like laundromats, bars, tattoo parlors, these are where you “launder” the money you earn from hot goods. The more you upgrade, the faster and cleaner you can launder.
- Laundering logistics (cost – time – risk): If you try to launder too much money in a short period of time, the system will warn you and you risk being audited. At that point, you need to use “insurance” like hiring a lawyer, paying your neighbors to stay quiet, or investing in technology to avoid surveillance.
There are also very real-life factors like electricity costs, noise and odor pollution, and neighborhood security. For example, if you expand too quickly without upgrading the soundproofing system, your neighbors will get suspicious. If you are too noisy or have irresponsible employees doing bad things, the police will start an investigation. And you know, once you get caught, it’s a clean reset.
Gameplay
At first glance, The Schedule V Project seems like a typical idle game where you set up a system once and leave it, occasionally coming back to pick up coins. But after a few hours of playing, you’ll realize that this game isn’t so easy to digest. It’s more like a miniature business model, where every action is intricately connected and affects everything else.
You can’t just sit back and watch the plants grow while drinking tea, because the game system always puts you on high alert. Situations like the police starting to investigate, neighbors complaining about strange noises or smells, employees suddenly quitting, equipment having technical problems can all happen at any time. These events not only cost you money, but also force you to react quickly and accurately if you don’t want to collapse the entire production system.
It is at this point that the gameplay creates a sense of simmering but constant tension. Every decision has consequences and you are forced to learn how to optimize every single step, from choosing the right staff for each task, to arranging your working hours reasonably, to allocating your budget between upgrading your facilities and laundering money. This is the kind of game that makes you constantly ask yourself: “How can I increase profits without attracting attention? How can I legalize dirty money before being investigated?”.
Human resource system
The Schedule V Project is much more involved than an idle game, as you’ll have to recruit, upgrade, and manage employees like a startup:
- Growers: Some are good at speed, some are good at maintaining quality, some are non-stop.
- Guards: Keep the facility safe, especially when you have a lot of inventory or are being monitored.
- Dealers: Get the goods out quickly, in large quantities, without losing them along the way.
- Manager: Helps you automate processes, coordinate human resources, and divide working time effectively.
Each character has their own stats like energy, loyalty, attention risk, and special skills. You have to balance their salary, work frequency, and even their mood because a disgruntled employee can cause bigger problems than you think.
Keep a cool head because there will be many risks
The Schedule V Project does not require reaction speed, but it does require systematic thinking and the ability to handle risks. I do not know about other places, but here it is not a “play for fun” game because it will test whether you are cool-headed, alert and slippery enough to operate an underground line. The system will constantly have real-time fluctuations such as:
- Police begin investigation.
- Money laundering shop reported by real customers.
- Employee quits mid-shift.
- Production equipment malfunctions, minor fire.
You will always have to react promptly to handle, upgrade, and coordinate. This is where the game is extremely engaging because it is not as intense as RTS but also not as passive as traditional idle games. It is like you are a boss, an HR, a technician, and a secret boss, all in one phone.
Graphics and sound
The visual style of The Schedule V Project is neat, bright, minimalistic as if playing an office game. But it is this contrast that makes us laugh. It looks like a bakery building game, but it turns out to be operating a “illegal goods” line. The visual effects are simple, easy to see, and do not cause lag even on weak devices.
The sound is indie-style, chill, steady beat, not too tense. But if you pay attention, every time there is an incident like the police approaching or the neighbors complaining, the sound will slightly change to a low tone, signaling danger is approaching.

The Schedule V Project is not for those who take themselves too seriously or who dislike sensitive social issues. But if you are the type of person who watched Breaking Bad and thought, “Wow, I would have done this more effectively,” then this is the perfect playground. It is entertaining, intellectually challenging, and makes you reflect on a society where ethics and business sometimes do not sit at the same table.
And remember this! In the game, growing grass is the first step. But to become a real tycoon, you have to be good at management, know how to launder money, and… convince both the AI and your conscience that this is just a game!
